Standalone or renewable energy co-location? A thorough explanation of the future of the battery storage business.
Since the Electric Utility Industry Act was amended and system batteries were positioned as power generation businesses, there has been a lively movement in the business of installing and operating batteries on the system side. While various business models can be considered, such as projects directly connected to the grid or those co-located with renewable energy, this business also carries a lot of uncertainty, which could lead to both opportunities and risks. Additionally, due to amendments in related laws and regulations, starting from April 2024, it will also be possible to utilize electricity charged from the grid for co-located renewable energy batteries, leading to expectations for further business expansion. This seminar will provide an overview of the battery business for companies considering system-side battery operations, and will carefully explain the key points to keep in mind when engaging in the currently trending grid-connected battery and co-located renewable energy battery businesses. 【Seminar Details】 ■ Date and Time: May 31 (Friday) 13:30 - 15:30 (Doors open at 13:00) ■ Speaker: Mr. Rentaro Hayashi Senior Manager, Research and Consulting Division, Japan Research Institute, Ltd. *For more details, please refer to the PDF materials or feel free to contact us.
