Case Study: Weed Prevention on Rough Asphalt
◆Customer Issues◆ - The edges of the asphalt sidewalk were uneven due to weeds growing through, narrowing the passageway. - Weeds growing on the slope next to the sidewalk were invading the sidewalk through the gaps in the fence, further narrowing the path. - I wanted to cover the asphalt areas where weeds were growing through with a weed control sheet from above, but I couldn't take measures because regular weed control sheets would deteriorate when stepped on by pedestrians. ◆Proposal/Construction Points◆ - We proposed using Chigaya Sheet (R) for the slope area and Maclean Sheet (R) for the asphalt part of the sidewalk. - By thermally welding the Maclean Sheet (R), we eliminated the lifting at the edges, reducing the risk of the sheet curling and tripping hazards for pedestrians. ◆Customer Feedback After Construction◆ - By using Maclean Sheet (R) for the sidewalk, we addressed the issue of weeds growing through the asphalt while allowing passage for pedestrians and bicycles, thus widening the path. - By combining Chigaya Sheet (R) instead of laying the entire area with Maclean Sheet (R), we were able to reduce costs.
