It is a general-purpose input/output device and compact, allowing you to configure an original GPIB terminal.
This device is a general-purpose digital input/output unit with a GPIB interface, equipped with a maximum of 24-bit input ports and a maximum of 32-bit output ports. Simple IN/OUT commands allow for monitoring of the input ports and control of the output ports. Additionally, this device can reproduce the functions of the older model "UIO-788GPB" through jumper settings. By closing the specified jumper, users can utilize the "788 ASCII mode" and "788 Binary mode," allowing them to incorporate the GPIB interface into their own products using this handshake signal. By reading/writing data from the host computer through GPIB, users can control and monitor devices (user circuits) connected on the terminal side.

basic information
*5432 Mode (compliant with IEEE 488.2 standard) Output to output port (maximum 32 bits), input from input port (maximum 24 bits), and operations such as reading the operating status and status input (8 bits: shared with input port) can be performed using ASCII string commands. *788 ASCII Mode (compliant with IEEE 488.2 standard) Output to output port (8 bits), input from input port (14 bits), and operations such as reading the operating status and status input (7 bits) can be performed using ASCII string commands. Additionally, there are bit-level input/output commands and buffering functions. *788 Binary Mode (compliant with IEEE 488.1 standard) This mode does not have input/output commands like ASCII mode. By designating this device as a listener, output operations to the output port (8 bits) can be performed, and by designating it as a talker, input operations from the input port (8 bits) can be performed. Additionally, the status (7 bits) can be read via the serial pole. Since there are no command strings, faster data transfer than ASCII mode is possible.
