As part of the application of AM for precision roll components, we would like to introduce Phase 2 of our efforts aimed at weight reduction and improving cooling efficiency. Following the results of Phase 1, we implemented two improvements: the shape of the cylindrical section from the inclined ends and an increase in the rigidity of the internal ribs. This time, we created a total of six types of precision rolls: one basic shape, three types of internal honeycombs, and two types of internal ribs.
