High-precision evaluation multi-purpose lighting solution VLS (Versatile Light System)
The VLS (Versatile Light System) is a multipurpose lighting solution that efficiently measures various image quality performance metrics such as Contrast Transfer Accuracy (CTA), Modulation Light Relaxation Rate (MMP), and Contrast Signal-to-Noise Ratio (CSNR). This setup, equipped with six Vega light sources, creates dynamic scenes that can quickly replicate typical lighting challenges faced by automotive cameras and sensor systems. VLS is a powerful solution for evaluating the performance of automotive camera systems tested according to the IEEE-P2020 standard. <Vega Light Sources> The Vega light source uses DC technology to create a highly stable light source with flicker generation capabilities. DC technology is beneficial for all camera tests, including those with very short exposure times, such as automotive-grade cameras. Vega offers a starter set with one light source, a flicker set with three light sources, and a CDP set with seven light sources, each accompanied by a controller and control software.

**VLS Hardware Setup** The VLS is a system composed of six Vega devices, each connected to an individual arm. All Vega devices are linked to a tripod via the arms, providing high adaptability. The flexibility of the arms allows for the movement of each Vega, generating various setups and angles during testing, resulting in versatile testing capabilities. **VLS Software** The VLS software includes VLS control software and VLS evaluation software. - **VLS Control Software** Generates lighting test sequences for the Vega devices. The software can control up to six Vega devices at once. Measurements are used to create reference files for evaluation during testing. Sequences can be saved as XML files for future use. - **VLS Evaluation Software** Analyzes camera performance using defined KPIs such as CTA, MMP, and CSNR. CTA evaluation is based on the distribution of pixel values. Results are exported as XML files.
