Cultivating challenge capability and creativity! Design management and design thinking seminar & workshop.
Would you like to enhance your brand power and innovation capability by introducing design management?
In 2018, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry and the Japan Patent Office made the "Design Management Declaration" to enhance companies' brand power and innovation capabilities, and the number of companies engaging in this effort is increasing. However, while the general concept is understood, many companies seem to lack specific guidance on how to operate as design professionals, with few resources available on the topic. This seminar will clearly explain design management and design thinking, while also lecturing on the roles and approaches of design professionals, linking them to corporate culture reform and new business initiatives! Furthermore, in design thinking, we will explain the five steps, and during the key step one, "Empathy," we will deepen our thinking about "insights" through practical exercises. Additionally, regarding innovation, there seems to be a common question of "why innovation is hard to achieve." By understanding the original thinking and actions behind "innovation," we will lecture on shifting from "creating innovation" to "exploring through innovation." Past participants have commented that the seminar is easy to understand. They noted that they had previously attended a seminar on design thinking by a well-known company but found it vague, whereas this time it resonated with them.

Applications/Examples of results
In the past, we have received the following feedback from participants of this seminar: - The systematic approach to design management was very easy to understand. - I lacked confidence in my creativity, but I was able to understand the feeling of opening the lid on my sensitivity myself. - There were parts where I had misunderstandings or misconceptions. I was also able to make new discoveries. - I had a vague understanding of design thinking from seminars by famous companies, but this clarified it for me. - It was great that there were not only talks but also practical work, allowing me to apply what I learned.

Shall we find something new together? I want to start a new business, but how should I proceed? We are experimenting within our company, but we can't seem to find a breakthrough. All we can see are saturated markets based on user needs alone. I somewhat understand design thinking, but I haven't reached the point of applying it in practice. I want to implement (learn about) design management, but while I understand it at a general knowledge level, I don't know how to structure or navigate it in the field. These voices are often heard online. The mission of Future Park is "a park where something new can be found." We provide support in deriving hidden user needs and products/services from insights, and in designing new businesses or products/services. We also support rebranding by extracting insights for the next generation or era from the current brand. To create new businesses, we start by designing user insights that will become "something new" and the inherent value of the seeds that exist within the company.
