[Seminar] Techniques for Utilizing Adhesive Sheets, Evaluation Methods, and Latest Trends in Technology
Master the "fusion technology" of chemistry and structural design that governs adhesion, durability, and environmental adaptability in just one day.
Utilization Techniques and Evaluation Methods for Adhesive Sheets Based on Adhesion, Durability, and Environmental Adaptability, and the Latest Trends in Adhesive Sheet Technology ~ Learn the "fusion technology" of chemistry and structural design, aiming for a higher level of design ~ Adhesive sheets are essential in modern manufacturing, from smartphone assembly to securing automotive parts. However, to fully realize their potential, it is crucial to approach them from both the chemical material properties and the physical structural design perspectives. This seminar aims to teach evaluation methods for adhesive sheets from the viewpoints of both manufacturers and users, equipping participants with practical utilization techniques. We will welcome Mr. Takashi Suzuki, who has been involved in research and development of adhesive technology for many years, to comprehensively explain the basic structure of adhesive sheets, material properties, and the latest technological trends. "Why is this adhesive sheet the most suitable?" "What are the evaluation methods to meet the required performance?" We will provide clear answers to such practical questions, guiding your product development to the next stage. <Recommended for the following individuals> Hard/mechanical designers and developers facing challenges in selecting and evaluating adhesive sheets Researchers involved in the development of adhesive materials and sheets Those who wish to acquire systematic knowledge about adhesive sheets

Benefits for Participants Due to the strengths mentioned above, participants can gain the following benefits: Acquire "essential knowledge" that is applicable in the field, not just theoretical concepts. Participants will learn the key points of product development that integrate both materials (chemistry) and structures (mechanics), rather than having knowledge biased towards one or the other. They will understand concretely and practically why certain materials are necessary and how they should be incorporated into structures. Find hints to eliminate "rework" in development. Participants will learn evaluation methods based on both the perspective of the "maker's logic" as a manufacturer and the "user's demands" as a user from instructors who understand both sides. This will help identify issues in the early stages of development, leading to reduced development lead times and improved quality. Understand the background of technologies and enhance application skills. Participants will directly learn from instructors who have created industry-standard technologies about the problem-solving processes and core thinking behind them. This goes beyond mere knowledge input, equipping participants with the thinking skills necessary to apply solutions to their own company's challenges.

A Challenge to Transform "Impossible" into "Possible" in Design Quality One day, we received a development project for a new wearable device that pursued unprecedented thinness and lightness. The client's request was, "It must be completely waterproof while not compromising on design at all." The project initially ran aground due to this conflicting challenge. The thickness of the casing was just a few millimeters. With conventional waterproofing technology, it was not only difficult to protect the internal precision instruments but also to maintain design integrity. While many engineers threw in the towel, declaring it "impossible," the challenge at Kamigami Corporation began. Our team first thoroughly utilized 3D data as part of our DX promotion, repeatedly conducting simulations in a virtual space. This was a crucial process to eliminate rework and improve development productivity. Drawing on the experience and insights that our representative, Suzuki, had cultivated over many years in developing some of the world's thinnest waterproof designs for smartphones, we meticulously analyzed every possible water intrusion route, leaving no 0.1 millimeter gap unchecked. We pursued the highest design quality and devised a new waterproof structure that overturned conventional wisdom.
