Therefore, the "Patent Guidebook," which provides a technical perspective on patent information, carefully selects about 75 pieces of information from the most recent patents from an engineer's viewpoint, offering fresh and technically useful insights. This report is designed to assist R&D researchers exploring next-generation technology themes. ■ Target Technology Terahertz waves are electromagnetic waves in the boundary region between light and radio waves, and have long been referred to as an unexplored technological area. This document broadly investigates terahertz wave materials, encompassing a wide range of artificial structural materials such as organic, inorganic, composite materials, and metamaterials, regardless of their application technology area. The definition of terahertz waves is generally focused on the frequency range of approximately 100 GHz to 10 THz.
