The "small chlorine furnace" enables the dry volatilization and removal of metal impurities such as Fe/Ni/Al remaining in carbon powder through selective chlorination using Cl2/HCl. Chlorination and volatilization are controlled with a staged temperature profile, allowing for low residue in a short time while maintaining the crystallinity and specific surface area of the base material.
