【SDGs】Clean flush toilets around the world! A completely self-sustaining flush toilet that doesn't require water supply, sewage, or commercial power.
The fixed-type circulating soil toilet is an environmentally friendly toilet system that utilizes the natural purification power to treat wastewater. By leveraging the activity of microorganisms living in the soil layer, it enables a stable flush toilet environment even in areas without established water supply and sewage systems. It is permanently installed in buildings and can be operated stably over long periods, making it ideal for natural parks, campgrounds, mountain facilities, and public spaces. It does not burden nature and provides users with a comfortable and clean space.

basic information
◎Active during disasters with system replacement By replacing only the system while keeping existing toilets at disaster evacuation sites (parks, nurseries, schools), it becomes safe to use even during power outages, water supply interruptions, or pipe bursts. Accommodating various requests By increasing the tank capacity and the processing garden size, the processing capacity can reach 500 people per day, and we can also respond to various requests. ◎Discreet processing system Since it is a garden, planting can be done, making it visually appealing and environmentally friendly, so it does not look like a toilet processing system. ◎Power source switching is possible Normally, the existing power source is used, and during power outages, it can be switched to solar power. ◎System switching between normal and disaster situations When there is water available, such as for water supply, it can be used for toilet flushing, and it is possible to change the wastewater treatment to a soil system without circulation. Additionally, during disasters, it can be switched to a circulation system.

**Introduction of Achievements** ◆ Public Toilet at Suzuran Colony Parking Lot, Fuefuki City, Yamanashi Prefecture Due to being designated as a national park and a prohibited excavation area, the installation of a septic tank was not possible. However, upon request from Fuefuki City, we installed an Astia water-flush toilet (fixed soil water-flush toilet), which is currently in operation. Over 20,000 tourists visit annually, with more than 300 people using the toilet on busy days. ◆ Public Toilet at Shimen Mountain, Hayakawa Town, Yamanashi Prefecture At the foothills of Shimen Mountain (the head temple of the Nichiren sect) in Hayakawa Town, we received a request from Hayakawa Town to install an Astia fixed soil toilet. This mountain is also designated as one of Japan's 100 famous mountains, attracting tens of thousands of climbers each year. Previously, there was a non-flush, pit toilet system that required helicopter transport for waste removal (costing about 6 million yen annually). Concerns regarding odor, hygiene, and running costs were raised. With the installation of a clean water-flush toilet, tourist numbers have increased, and the elimination of waste removal has led to cost reductions. The toilet is currently in operation.
