Millimeter-wave radar that monitors the condition of infrastructure structures and improves safety.
In the infrastructure industry, the aging of structures such as bridges and tunnels is progressing, making regular inspections and proper maintenance management essential. It is particularly important to detect structural abnormalities such as cracks and deformations early to prevent accidents. Traditional inspection methods not only require time and cost but also have limitations when it comes to visual inspections. Our 79GHz millimeter-wave radar sensor unit contributes to enhancing the safety of infrastructure by monitoring the condition of structures non-contact and detecting abnormalities early. 【Use Cases】 - Monitoring deflection and displacement of bridges - Detecting cracks in tunnel walls - Detecting anomalies in dams - Monitoring vibrations of structures 【Benefits of Implementation】 - Early detection of structural abnormalities to prevent accidents - Reduction of inspection costs - Continuous monitoring 24/7 - Reduction of inspection work in hazardous locations

Sakura Tech has been developing imaging sensors and high-performance microwave/millimeter-wave components using ultra-wideband technology since its founding in October 2008. In particular, we developed a compact and high-performance radar platform (miRadar(R)8) using Multiple-Input Multiple-Output (MIMO) technology, which has been commercialized as an obstacle monitoring radar. Using the same radar platform, we developed an algorithm capable of simultaneously measuring the vital signs (heart rate, respiration) of multiple individuals, and we have been the first in the world to sell evaluation kits, receiving positive feedback from many manufacturers. Radio wave sensors have become essential in the fields of autonomous driving sensors, security aiming for a safe and secure society, and monitoring the elderly in the IoT society. Moving forward, Sakura Tech will continue to provide and contribute to society with human-friendly, high-performance sensors that utilize radio waves.
