High-precision millimeter-wave radar sensor that enables remote monitoring and anomaly detection.
In energy facility inspections, ensuring safety and efficient operation is essential. Particularly in large-scale facilities such as plants and power stations, it is important to detect abnormalities across a wide range of equipment early to prevent accidents. Traditional inspection methods often require manual visual checks or the introduction of costly specialized equipment, making the efficiency of inspections a challenge. The 79GHz millimeter-wave radar sensor unit can acquire distance, direction, and speed data non-contact, enabling remote monitoring. This enhances the efficiency of inspection work and reduces the risk of working in hazardous locations. 【Use Cases】 - Abnormality detection in plant equipment - Equipment monitoring at power stations - Monitoring of substations - Detection of foreign objects on transmission lines 【Benefits of Implementation】 - Reduction in inspection costs through remote monitoring - Accident prevention through early detection of abnormalities - Reduced risk of working in hazardous locations - Establishment of a 24/7 monitoring system

Sakura Tech has been developing imaging sensors and high-performance microwave/millimeter-wave components using ultra-wideband technology since its founding in October 2008. In particular, we developed a compact and high-performance radar platform (miRadar(R)8) using Multiple-Input Multiple-Output (MIMO) technology, which has been commercialized as an obstacle monitoring radar. Using the same radar platform, we developed an algorithm capable of simultaneously measuring the vital signs (heart rate, respiration) of multiple individuals, and we have been the first in the world to sell evaluation kits, receiving positive feedback from many manufacturers. Radio wave sensors have become essential in the fields of autonomous driving sensors, security aiming for a safe and secure society, and monitoring the elderly in the IoT society. Moving forward, Sakura Tech will continue to provide and contribute to society with human-friendly, high-performance sensors that utilize radio waves.
