KN-BLOCK is a protective steel plate made of ultra-soft iron with a thickness of 12mm for underground installations. Compared to the typical 16mm thick protective plates made of SS400, it achieves weight reduction while ensuring equivalent protective performance. The weight is approximately 103kg per square meter, which is about 25% lower than SS400 (approximately 134.4kg per square meter). In load tests assuming a T-25 impact coefficient of 0.4 and a soil cover of 10cm, the residual deflection at a maximum load of 29.4kN was confirmed to be less than 0.03mm, demonstrating excellent recovery. Additionally, in a soil corrosion test equivalent to 14 years of exposure, the material showed a thickness reduction of 0.62mm, which is equal to or better than that of SS400 equivalent materials (0.70mm) in terms of corrosion resistance. The standard dimensions are W500×L550×t12mm (26kg per sheet), with custom sizes available up to a maximum of 1,500×3,000mm. With a welding specification for end-offset prevention angles, it balances workability and safety, making it a high-performance protective plate suitable for public works.
