Events such as overcharging, internal short circuits, or thermal runaway generate gas and heat, causing a rapid increase in pressure inside the battery pack. If the pressure is not properly released, the accumulation of pressure may cause the battery pack to deform or burst. The vent (exhaust mechanism) provides a controlled gas discharge path, preventing uncontrolled explosions and directing gas away from critical components.
