We will introduce a case where a "VD-unit" was implemented in the drive motor of a wire saw, and a vibration diagnostic system was constructed in conjunction with a PLC. Maintenance parts were replaced based on on-site judgment, but a significant failure occurred. It took a week to repair, during which the manufacturing line was stopped, resulting in high costs. Thanks to the high detection capability of the "VD-unit," vibrations from the reciprocating motion of the wire are detected. Monitoring is conducted by varying the threshold in conjunction with the speed command value in the PLC.
