A new grade that balances BH characteristics and iron loss! We are offering a limited-time free gift along with the introduction of the existing 'Somaloy(R)' grades!
A new grade of soft magnetic composite material (SMC material) Somaloy(R) has been introduced! It has undergone significant evolution, including the adoption of an insulation coating that is fundamentally different from previous versions. Please make use of it for various motor cores and more. (The soft magnetic composite material 'Somaloy(R)' is our trademark.) ■ New Grade Name Somaloy(R)700 7P ■ Overview - Somaloy(R) is a soft magnetic composite material with an insulation coating applied to pure iron powder. - The new grade achieves lower iron loss than before while maintaining high BH characteristics through improvements to the base pure iron powder and the development of a new insulation coating. - It also offers higher heat resistance and lower CO2 emissions compared to the previous grade. From June to the end of July 2026, you can download the new grade preliminary data sheet and existing grade introduction materials for free for a limited time.

basic information
■Somaloy(R) Features - A coating of insulating film is applied to pure iron powder, achieving high efficiency in high-frequency ranges due to low eddy current loss characteristics! - High compressibility allows for high permeability. - Enables three-dimensional magnetic circuit design, achieving miniaturization, lightweight, and cost reduction of products. - Complex shapes can be formed without post-processing through net shaping (three-dimensional mechanical shapes that can be formed with uniaxial pressure). - Low CO2 emissions from the material support sustainable product development. ■New Grade Somaloy(R)700 7P Overview - #100 mesh iron powder + 7P coating. - Comparable compressibility and BH characteristics (magnetic flux density, permeability) to #40 mesh powder. - Iron loss at 1T, 1kHz is approximately 10% lower than Somaloy 700HR 5P (=low loss grade so far). - Higher heat resistance than conventional insulating coatings. - Lower CO2 emissions than existing grades. - Further high strength and high permeability possible through optimization of heat treatment conditions (under development). Please refer to the attached materials for comparison data with conventional grades.
