Laboratory Membrane Filtration System VMF Vibrating Membrane Filtration
SANI membranes manufacturer
A new approach using vibration achieves low TMP, low shear, and high concentration. A membrane filtration system for process development in the lab.
In membrane filtration, fouling on the membrane surface significantly affects the permeate flux and separation performance due to physical clogging and concentration polarization. Conventional TFF (tangential flow filtration) technology mitigates fouling by creating turbulence on the membrane surface through high flow rates. In contrast, VMF (vibrational membrane filtration) technology reduces fouling using a vibration-based approach. By utilizing vibrations, it can achieve better performance than traditional TFF. <Examples> - Achieving high concentration ratios of nucleic acids (mRNA) - Enabling stable low TMP operation over long periods (mAbs) - Achieving higher concentration than conventional methods with single-pass TFF (SPTFF) (mAbs) - High recovery rates for large molecular weight proteins (E. coli lysate) Vibrational membrane filtration technology achieves low shear while continuing operation under high load conditions. Reports on the above examples using VMF can be viewed in the catalog corner.
