We propose an innovative technology that allows for three-dimensional effects to be printed on the surface while using conventional printing machines!

"VE3D" is a virtual embossing process that can print three-dimensional effects on surfaces such as flexible packaging and foil covers for PET bottles. After applying UV varnish, a polymer plate that retains 3D elements is brought into contact with the still wet pearl varnish, disrupting the orientation of the pigments. The UV coating layer quickly returns to a uniform surface, but the pigments maintain their (disrupted) positions to express the 3D image obtained from the polymer plate.
