■Operating Principle When cells pass through the micropores present in a specially designed silicon membrane, a transient change occurs in the cell membrane, allowing various substances to be delivered into the cells. The high permeability resulting from the change in the cell membrane during the passage through the micropores is maintained for about 30 seconds. During this time, by directly dispensing the cells into a multi-well plate containing the cargo (the substance to be introduced), it becomes possible to incorporate the desired substance into the cells. Since different introducing substances can be tested in each well, it is ideal for screening.
