Seamlessly connect EtherCAT and Modbus (RS-232C, RS-422/485) with a gateway.
■ Product Overview: A communication conversion gateway unit that seamlessly connects and integrates industrial equipment and devices equipped only with existing Modbus interfaces into an EtherCAT network. ■ Basic Performance: Built-in Modbus communication protocol (supports RTU/ASCII modes). Since all cumbersome communication control can be entrusted to the unit, the host side is freed from complex communication control programs. ■ Specifications and Connections: There are two models available, one compatible with RS-232C and the other with RS-422/485, both utilizing a smart e-CON (6-pin) connector for neat wiring in the serial section. Up to 8 target devices can be connected. ■ Installation Benefits: The compact housing design allows for easy retrofitting to existing equipment. Wiring for pressure gauges, temperature controllers, and other devices on-site can be neatly consolidated into a single line.

Applications/Examples of results
■ Bulk connection of existing equipment to EtherCAT system - Integration of old vacuum pumps, temperature controllers, flow meters, pressure gauges, etc., which only have Modbus communication and no Ethernet ports, into a higher-level system. ■ Reduction of communication load on upper controllers - The built-in protocol of the gateway unit performs automatic data communication with Modbus subordinate devices, significantly reducing the monitoring processing load on master PLCs and others. ■ Space-saving retrofitting to existing control panels - Utilizing a compact size of 56×120mm and a DIN rail mounting structure, installation in small available spaces within the panel. Simplifying complex wiring into a single line. ■ Centralized management of multiple devices - Up to 8 Modbus devices can be connected in a multi-drop configuration with one unit, efficiently collecting each monitoring data for centralized management at a higher level. ■ Stable communication in noisy and harsh environments - Stable operation even around inverters with strong anti-static and impulse resistance performance. - Integrated into machine tools and semiconductor equipment for export to Europe and other regions with a wide operating temperature range of -10 to 60°C.
