Seminar for Engineers: Practical Use of Data in Manufacturing Industry
Statistical Analysis Software JMP: Quality and Process Improvement Practiced by User Companies (Case Studies)
In the manufacturing industry, while a lot of quality and process data has been accumulated, there are still many cases where its value is not fully utilized. In this seminar, we will introduce case studies from two companies that are working on data analysis and improvement activities using JMP. From Energy With Co., Ltd., we will present efforts to utilize vast amounts of inspection data to connect quality assurance with quality and process improvement. Additionally, Atfields Technology Co., Ltd. will share their approach and key points for discovering issues and leading to improvements through practical data analysis using JMP. This presentation will be given by individuals who are actively engaged in data analysis related to product and technology development using JMP. We look forward to the participation of many people in this seminar, which aims to provide hints for utilizing data in the manufacturing field. 【Target Audience】 - Individuals involved in quality control, quality assurance, production technology, and manufacturing technology in the manufacturing industry - Those who want to utilize quality data and process data to work on quality and process improvements - Anyone interested in data analysis and quality/process improvement using JMP (both JMP users and non-users are welcome)

Applications/Examples of results
**Challenge** Energy With Co., Ltd. is a "proposal-based energy storage solution company" that comprehensively handles everything from the manufacturing and sales of storage batteries to operational proposals for customers. The storage batteries they deal with significantly contribute to the efficient management of renewable energy. However, the renewable energy business utilizing storage batteries is still relatively new, making it difficult to analyze based on abundant historical examples and archived data. Given this background, there arose a necessity to utilize statistical methods to propose efficient operations of storage batteries to customers. **Solution** Analyzed the "operational data" and "inspection data" of storage batteries used in wind power generation using JMP. Conducted exploratory data analysis (EDA) to estimate battery life and detect abnormal degradation. **Results** Based on insights gained from the analysis, appropriate usage methods for storage batteries were proposed to customers, making it possible to extend battery life. By analyzing underutilized data, trust was built with customers, leading to increased product satisfaction. ▼ For more details, click here! https://www.jmp.com/ja/customer-stories/energywith
