[Analysis Case] Comparison of Crystallinity of Polyethylene (TD-NMR)
TD-NMR requires little to no pretreatment and can quantitatively evaluate the crystallinity and higher-order structural differences of polymer materials.
Pulse NMR (TD-NMR) applies high-frequency pulses to atomic nuclei (mainly 1H) in an external magnetic field and analyzes the resulting magnetization relaxation behavior to evaluate molecular mobility and higher-order structures. In polymer materials, by analyzing the spin-spin relaxation time (T2), it is possible to distinguish between crystalline and amorphous regions based on differences in molecular chain mobility, and it is widely used for comparative evaluation of crystallinity.
