basic information
【Course Overview】 The carbon credit market of the Tokyo Stock Exchange, established in October 2023, is gaining increased importance against the backdrop of the full-scale operation of the GX-ETS Phase 2 starting in April 2026. While the obligation for large-scale emitters to participate and the introduction of holding and retirement obligations for emission allowances based on emission performance are expanding corporate credit demand, challenges such as price formation and ensuring liquidity are also becoming apparent. In light of these developments in the system and market, this course will organize the current state of the Tokyo Stock Exchange market, outline the challenges related to price formation and liquidity improvement, the responses required from companies, and discuss points for sustainable market development and future prospects. 【Course Topics】 ■ What is emissions trading? ■ GX League (Phase 1) and the Tokyo Stock Exchange Carbon Credit Market ■ About the Tokyo Stock Exchange Carbon Credit Market ■ Key initiatives of the Tokyo Stock Exchange from fiscal year 2024 onwards ■ GX-ETS (Phase 2) and the Tokyo Stock Exchange Carbon Credit Market ■ Related Q&A ■ Business card exchange and networking event (for on-site participants only)
