basic information
When using this product with an AC power supply, be sure to use it in conjunction with a varistor or similar device. Using the arrester alone may cause continuous current flow. We also offer the AV series (2-pole) and AV3P series (3-pole) which combine the arrester and varistor. When handling this product, please be careful not to dirty the surface of the ceramic tube. If the surface of the ceramic tube is touched with bare hands or with dirty gloves or finger cots, oils such as sweat and sebum may adhere to the surface, which can lower the discharge starting voltage and insulation resistance characteristics. Additionally, if the surface of the ceramic tube becomes charged with static electricity, the discharge starting voltage may temporarily decrease, so we recommend using conductive finger cots when testing this product alone.

Since its founding in 1930, Sankosha has expanded its business in response to the needs of the times, from the design and manufacturing of communication security devices and lightning rods to the design and manufacturing of meteorological observation instruments and optical technology-related equipment. Additionally, we established Franklin Japan (in Sagamihara City), a lightning and weather information company, and provide high-precision lightning strike information services through a lightning observation network installed throughout Japan, solidifying our position as the world's only comprehensive company related to 'lightning,' from observation to protection.
