Difference between leak detection and leak location detection Leak detection refers to the ability to detect the presence of water, oil, chemicals, etc., leaking within the monitored area. By understanding whether there is a leak, inspections and responses can be initiated before equipment shutdowns or secondary damage occur. Leak location detection, on the other hand, not only indicates the presence of a leak but also displays the specific location on the sensor cable where the liquid was detected as distance information. With TraceTech, the displayed distance can be cross-referenced with the sensor layout map to confirm the leak location. In the case of underground buried pipes, it is possible to narrow down the leak location without excavating the entire ground. Additionally, for overhead piping, the leak location can be identified without visually inspecting the entire route of the piping rack.
