Achieved 100% in-house welding repair! Introducing a case where employee proactivity improved and a mindset reform in in-house manufacturing was realized.
We would like to introduce a case where we implemented the laser welding machine "T-LASER" for mold repair for a customer engaged in the planning, manufacturing, and sales of model trains. Previously, we relied on outsourcing for the repair of damaged mold parts. The mold sizes ranged from palm-sized to 300mm square, and the person in charge spent 40 minutes one way to deliver them. Due to waiting times during repairs, each repair took approximately 3 hours of time. In 2021, we achieved 100% in-house production for all repair cases. By being able to perform repairs internally, we saved time and increased awareness of not passing defective items to the next process, which reduced manufacturing errors.
