basic information
**Lecture Overview** The energy conversion efficiency of perovskite solar cells invented in our country is equivalent to the highest efficiency of monocrystalline Si solar cells at 28.0%, and it reaches nearly 35% in tandem cells with Si. Low-cost production using solution coating (printing method) enables the fabrication of lightweight and flexible large-area devices. Implementation of photovoltaic elements for indoor IoT devices has begun, in addition to solar power generation for industrial use, with an extremely high efficiency of 34% for indoor lighting. As outdoor demonstration tests for large-area modules are becoming more active, we will discuss the challenges of mass production technology and methods for recycling solar cell waste (lead recovery), while looking ahead to the potential for industrial implementation and application expansion from the perspective of future technological development and cost. **Lecture Topics** ■ Characteristics of perovskite semiconductors and solar cells ■ Technical know-how hidden in the film formation methods of perovskite crystals ■ New technologies for improving performance and durability ■ Trends in development aimed at improving lifespan ■ Development of lightweight flexible solar cells in Japan ■ Measures to ensure environmental safety ■ Trends in social implementation and business strategies for market expansion ■ Related Q&A ■ Business card exchange and networking event (limited to on-site participants)
