A new high-brightness light source from the Vega series that enables high-precision testing of the latest high dynamic range camera systems.
In today's image sensor and high dynamic range settings, testing the sensor in a saturated state or just before saturation is very difficult. By using Arcturus, we can stably generate brightness levels that were previously unattainable, allowing us to challenge even higher sensitivity sensors with sufficient brightness. Therefore, it provides powerful additional features to the Vega product series.

Use Cases of Arcturus in In-Vehicle Camera Systems In-vehicle camera systems need to be tested in various lighting environments, particularly those that comply with the newly established IEEE-P2020 standard. One of the most challenging scenarios in testing is the operation of camera systems under direct sunlight. Generating this level of illumination in a test lab is often difficult, but Arcturus can simulate the intensity of direct sunlight with very high stability compared to other light sources. At Trioptics Japan, we serve as the exclusive distributor in Japan for Image Engineering (IE), a global leader in camera image quality evaluation. We offer a range of products including light sources, charts, and software for image quality assessment, as well as evaluation solutions and measurement services. IE participates in the development of standards in international committees related to image quality, such as ISO/TC42 and IEEE-P2020 (a working group for establishing image quality standards for automotive applications), and many of IE's products and solutions comply with international standards.
