Applications/Examples of results
This is a second-generation UCI hardness tester that significantly improves the repeatability of measurements, which was a challenge of conventional UCI hardness testers, and enhances measurement accuracy. The UCI method required skill for measurement compared to the rebound method, leading to variability in measurement values among inspectors. With unique technology, it greatly suppresses measurement variability, allowing anyone to achieve stable measurements like the rebound method, making high-precision hardness measurement more accessible. It is capable of measuring the hardness of small parts, thin plates, complex-shaped components, heat-affected zones (HAZ), and surface hardened layers due to heat treatment, and it is also used for product inspection due to its small indentation size. Furthermore, with a very wide hardness measurement range of 20 to 2000 HV, it accommodates a broad range of metallic materials, from soft metals like pure aluminum and copper to carbon steel, tool steel, hardened steel, and even carbide. It also supports connection to smartphones and tablets via Bluetooth, and by using the dedicated app 'NOVOTEST Lab', users can view measurement values on a large screen and easily share measurement results (reports, videos, photos) with remote locations.
