In factories and plants, "air casters" (air film floating heavy load transport devices) are utilized as a means to move large machinery, structures, and heavy objects such as molds, weighing from hundreds of kilograms to thousands of tons. By using compressed air to slightly lift the transport target, friction with the floor is reduced to nearly zero, allowing for safe and free multidirectional movement with minimal force. There is a growing demand to automate and self-drive the heavy load carts lifted by these air casters without relying on manual labor, or to operate them remotely via radio control. Since the frictional resistance with the floor is extremely low, simply attaching drive wheels for propulsion and turning enables the realization of an automatic transport system for heavy loads. Our "WGM series (wheel geared motor)" is a drive wheel unit where the motor is directly combined with a wheel (wheel-type gear head).
