There is a shift from traditional lead batteries to smart lithium-ion batteries that can visualize lifespan and remaining charge in real-time via CAN communication, enabling predictive maintenance to prevent sudden stops. Next-generation AGVs equipped with these "smart batteries" also require compact and intelligent motors in their drive systems (undercarriage). Our "HSM Series (Hub Servo Motor)" is a direct drive in-wheel motor that integrates a motor and encoder within the wheel. Since it does not have a transmission mechanism like gears, it allows for ample space for lithium batteries and control units, making it possible to minimize the height and compactness of the vehicle to the extreme.
