Power-saving design Modbus RTU/ASCII ⇔ Modbus TCP gateway
The SI-232MB is a gateway that can bi-directionally convert the Modbus RTU/ASCII protocol using a serial interface to Modbus TCP compatible with Ethernet LAN. The gateway processing firmware of the SI-232MB supports both Modbus TCP master mode and Modbus TCP slave mode, and it is compatible with the conversion of all current Modbus RTU/ASCII registers and commands. It is a LAN interface converter designed with low power consumption operating from DC5V and a compact metal housing that considers resource conservation, making it environmentally friendly for factory automation (FA) specifications. With a robust metal casing that is resistant to noise, a wide operating temperature range, low power consumption compatible with a wide power input, and various mounting options for 35mm DIN rail or wall mounting, it is a product that can be confidently introduced in many scenes of FA and process automation (PA).

■Connection Examples [ Modbus Master Connection Mode ] When the SI-232MB is set to master connection mode, it can communicate with Modbus serial (RTU/ASCII) master devices as a Modbus TCP master. Upon receiving a Modbus RTU/ASCII frame (query message) from the master device on the RS-232C side, it establishes a TCP connection to the IP address specified in the frame's address field or to a configured specific IP address, and sends it after converting it to the Modbus TCP frame format. [ Modbus Slave Connection Mode ] When the SI-232MB is set to slave connection mode, it can communicate with Modbus serial (RTU/ASCII) slave devices as a Modbus TCP slave. When connected by a Modbus TCP master device and receiving a Modbus TCP frame (query message), it converts it to the Modbus RTU/ASCII frame format and sends it to the RS-232C side. It can accommodate connections from up to 10 Modbus TCP master devices and manages and adjusts shared access.
