It is added to PVC films and sheets to increase surface tension. As a result, it improves the printing characteristics on PVC substrates.
The selection of raw materials used, as well as the gelation degree of the soft PVC film and the timing of storage, have a significant impact on printability. • Surface energy measurement for property evaluation is very suitable for predicting the printability of soft PVC films. • By using BYK-3560, the printability of soft PVC films can be optimized! • BYK-3565 and BYK-3566 are silicone-modified versions of BYK-3560 and can be tested if the effects of BYK-3560 are insufficient. Features BYK-3560 increases the surface energy of cured plastisols in general, particularly the polarity. This enhances the adhesion of subsequent layers such as paints, laminate foils, adhesives, and printing inks. It also improves the wettability of the cured plastisol layer, achieving excellent leveling of subsequent layers. Furthermore, BYK-3560 improves the leveling properties of the entire system. BYK-3560 does not affect the surface tension of liquid plastisols and maintains high transparency even when added to topcoats. This additive demonstrates good processing characteristics and is applicable to all systems.
