Oxide ceramics such as aluminum oxide, zirconium oxide, and chromium oxide can be sprayed. Since only fully melted materials are sprayed, the sprayed coating does not contain unmelted particles, resulting in a high bonding strength between particles, which leads to a relatively tough coating.
