The Exair PVDF Super Air Knife can be used in acidic environments where stainless steel or aluminum air knives cannot. It can withstand the strong acid environments found in the manufacturing of silicon solar cells. When the raw material silicon is purified, it releases highly corrosive toxic gases. (Even 316 type stainless steel can develop holes and corrode.) The PVDF Super Air Knife uses PTFE shims and Hastelloy C-276 alloy screws that can endure extremely harsh conditions.
