basic information
[Lecture Abstract] We obtained clear experimental results showing that the rapid aggregation of nanoparticles dispersed in a polymer matrix depends on the molecular weight of the polymer. We argue that aggregation occurs during the formation of entanglements in the polymer chains. [Lecture Abstract] We present design guidelines on how to synthesize dense titanium oxide films exhibiting high refractive index and silica porous films exhibiting low refractive index using the sol-gel method with catalysts. [Lecture Abstract] UV-curable resins have become widely used in the manufacturing process of optical materials. With the recent advancements in performance requirements, in addition to general properties required from the perspective of process management, such as low viscosity, fast curing, and low curing shrinkage, there is an increasing demand for control of the refractive index. In this seminar, using UV-curable resins as an example, we will explain the design guidelines for high refractive index optical materials, specific methods, and the characteristics of each method, incorporating experimental data.
