It was established on May 9, 2005, through the merger of the Akita Prefectural Industrial Technology Center and the Akita Prefectural Advanced Technology Research Institute. To revitalize and enhance industrial technology in Akita Prefecture, it conducts joint research, technical consultations, facility and equipment access, and human resource development.
