It is a "technology think tank" that supports the revitalization and sustainable development of Akita Prefecture's industries from a technological perspective.
It was established on May 9, 2005, through the merger of the Akita Prefectural Industrial Technology Center and the Akita Prefectural Advanced Technology Research Institute. To revitalize and enhance industrial technology in Akita Prefecture, it conducts joint research, technical consultations, facility and equipment access, and human resource development. It is a "think tank for science and technology" that broadly supports everything from solving technical issues in production sites to cutting-edge research and development such as nanotechnology.
