Dispensing spiral beads with precision swirl.
■ Supplies a swirl (spiral) bead pattern in a circular loop ■ The swirl pattern maintains a uniform bead shape and consistent edges ■ The distance between the chip and the application surface can be increased, simplifying robot programming ■ The swirl pattern can be adjusted to match the bead application surface and bead path ■ The orbital applicator for swirling (rotating spray gun) does not use seals on moving parts

basic information
Graco's Precision Swirl applicator addresses critical quality issues for sealing automotive hem flange closed panels. By adopting a swirl pattern instead of extrusion (bead application) or streaming (high-pressure spray application) techniques when bonding the inner panel to the outer panel, it ensures complete and uniform application across the entire metal surface, reducing the risk of sealant overflow and waste due to rework or defective work. Compared to air-based swirl methods, Graco's Precision Swirl boasts superior characteristics. In terms of work (parts) improvement, it provides uniform edges and low bead height, a wide range of pattern widths, precise corner application, efficient material application, and a longer distance from the chip to the work. These adhesive control capabilities allow for integrated dispense control in the process equipment without being constrained by fluid dynamics. The material is less likely to overflow the outer edge of the hem, eliminating material waste and preventing contamination of the process equipment.
