The temperature-compensated portable THERMOVAC TM 101 is equipped with a piezo/pirani combination sensor and can measure total pressure in the range of 1200 to 5 x 10^-4 mbar. This device is battery-operated and can function even under complete vacuum conditions. Pressure can be continuously displayed across the entire measurement range. With the integrated memory function, measurement results of up to 2000 can be saved and displayed. Measurement Principle The TM 101 achieves high resolution across its entire measurement range by adopting two different physical measurement methods. The TM 101 incorporates a piezo sensor for low vacuum measurements. The resistance bridge is connected to the background only during the pressure range where the thin diaphragm bends. This results in a change in resistance value, which is added to the total pressure. The built-in Pirani sensor, which uses the thermal conductivity of gases for vacuum measurement, is applied in the high vacuum range. The filament is maintained at a constant temperature by the bridge circuit. The required bridge voltage is converted into the total pressure measurement value. The piezo/Pirani combination sensor can measure >15mbar regardless of the type of gas. In the low vacuum measurement range, it enables measurements by introducing an adjustable gas correction factor.

【Usage】 The TM101 is used for checking purposes and has recently been employed to confirm the operating status of vacuum devices and for quality control purposes. The sturdy and portable TM101 is resistant to humidity (IP40) and is ideal for repair and maintenance work. One practical example is its use in vacuum packaging in the food industry. Additionally, it is used in coating devices, chemical process engineering, refrigeration and air conditioning systems before filling, and in the manufacturing of pressurized gas refills for light bulbs and lighting fixtures.
