Following this evaluation result, revisions to the Labor Safety and Health Act enforcement order, Labor Safety and Health Regulations, and Specific Chemical Substance Hazard Prevention Regulations were made effective January 1, 2013, classifying "cobalt and inorganic compounds" as Category 2 substances and specially controlled substances for specific chemical substances management. In response to the change in risk assessment regarding "cobalt and inorganic compounds," Junkosha will promote the discontinuation of the use of "cobalt-based pigments."
