Looking back on the year 2024, which was marked by many memorable disasters, let us reconsider disaster prevention measures. The year 2024 began with the Noto Peninsula earthquake on January 1st and saw significant disasters across the country, particularly in Kyushu and the Tohoku region, including heavy rains and heatstroke incidents due to record-breaking heat. First, I would like to express my heartfelt condolences to all those affected, as well as to their families and related parties. I also extend my deep respect to everyone who has worked tirelessly for the relief of victims and the support of recovery in disaster-stricken areas. I pray for the safety of those in affected regions and for a swift recovery. Over the past year, we have been distributing information related to labor safety and environmental safety in the form of white papers. This time, I would like to take a moment to reflect on the disasters of 2024 as a summary and reconsider the disaster prevention measures we can take now.
