Catalog Release: Filter Integrity Testing Machine (Membrane Check)
We have released the Donaldson filter integrity testing machine (Membracheck). Membracheck is an easy-to-handle, portable, fully automatic filter integrity testing machine. In addition to integrity testing, it can be used as a calibration pressure gauge (0 to 6 bar) and can check the volume (such as the upstream volume of the filter housing). It comes with a printer, allowing for standalone on-site testing without the need to connect to a PC. For more details, please check the link URL. ⒸNippon Donaldson, Ltd. All rights reserved.

Sudden and Instantaneous Pressure Rise in a Closed System: Underestimated Risks and Their Mitigation Methods
Pressure peaks in closed systems can cause significant damage and are complex phenomena. But what exactly is a pressure peak? How does it occur, and how can we protect the system from pressure peaks? We will explain the role of precise measurements in ensuring the safety and efficiency of pressure systems. 1. What is a pressure peak? Why does it occur? The physical principles behind the phenomenon are Newton's three laws of motion and Bernoulli's principle. What causes water hammer and cavitation, and what are their effects? 2. Preventive measures Using simulations, protective components such as pressure dampers, pressure reducers, and check valves, as well as pressure sensors. 3. Why are pressure sensors necessary to protect the system from pressure peaks? Continuous monitoring with sensors allows for real-time recording of pressure peaks and can trigger automatic responses such as valve opening and closing. In the event of a failure of system components or protective devices, it can not only be directly detected but also prevented. Alarms can be automatically sent to responsible personnel via email, IoT, cloud, etc., in case of anomalies. For more details, please refer to the related links below!

Viewing Engine Performance - Pressure Sensors for Engine Test Benches
Pressure Measurement Under Severe Conditions FPT Motorenforschung AG, headquartered in Albon, Switzerland, develops engines for vehicles and machinery in the powertrain division of CNH Industrial. Approximately 220 staff members are on-site developing new FPT products for commercial vehicles, construction machinery, agricultural machinery, and industrial and marine applications, with engines being tested on a total of 30 test benches. To measure engine efficiency, FPT Motorenforschung uses tools such as the M5 series pressure sensors from KELLER, a specialist in pressure sensors based in Switzerland. "The engines we develop and test in the factory meet the most stringent quality requirements in terms of materials, emissions, and efficiency. This means that when inspecting the engines on the test bench, we must consider all variables that affect the engine's performance. Therefore, precise measuring instruments are required to obtain accurate and reliable measurements, even under special conditions inside the engine," said the head of the Testing Engineering/Electronic Measurement Department at FPT Motorenforschung AG. Announcement of Free Webinar: Semiconductor Resin Encapsulation Molding "Visualization Solutions for Inside Molds" and IoT Technology (4/20, 4/27, 5/11, 5/18)
In the semiconductor industry, particularly in the resin encapsulation process for power semiconductors aimed at NEVs (new energy vehicles), there is an increasing demand for the "visualization" of the internal conditions of molds to achieve zero defects in the manufacturing process. In this webinar, we will propose sensing technologies to improve molding defects using a quartz piezoelectric pressure sensor developed for low-viscosity resins, such as epoxy transfer molding, and for low-pressure measurements. - Low-viscosity resin compatibility ⇒ Structure that does not cause measurement errors due to epoxy resin intrusion (diaphragm structure) - High-temperature compatibility ⇒ Mold temperatures up to 200°C - Linearity (measurement error) ⇒ Less than 1% against the measurement range - Resolution ⇒ 1/1,000 MPa This webinar will be held on the following four dates, but the content will be the same on all dates, so please join us on a day that suits you! April 20, 2022 (Wednesday) April 27, 2022 (Wednesday) May 11, 2022 (Wednesday) May 18, 2022 (Wednesday) Please check the details and register via the registration form. https://info.kistler.com/ja-webinar-semicon We look forward to many participants joining us.

A rain gauge observation station using a water level meter and a remote data transmission unit continuously measures and records precipitation! What is the sponge city concept aimed at solving concentrated heavy rainfall and the urban heat island phenomenon?
At the "Innovation Lab" near Keller's headquarters, you can experience the "Sponge City." Keller's rain gauge observation stations equipped with sensors continuously measure and record precipitation. What is a Sponge City? The purpose of a Sponge City is to temporarily store and infiltrate rainwater on-site, processing it in a way that is closer to nature rather than directly draining it away. Soil and plants absorb water like a sponge and later release it through evaporation. This concept models a natural surface that can absorb far more water than paved urban areas. Rain gauge observation points, like those set up in the Innovation Lab, provide crucial data for long-term evaluation of the effects of such urban design. Keller's sensors in action At the Innovation Lab, the water level in areas where rainwater is stored is measured with high precision using the 36XW level gauge. The 36XW can measure not only water level but also water temperature simultaneously. The collected data is transmitted to the cloud via the remote data transmission unit ARC1 and displayed live. Additionally, the ARC1 measures atmospheric pressure and ambient temperature under direct sunlight, allowing for an understanding of the impact of sunlight on plants.
