Please consult us about brazing stainless steel.

If you're looking for brazing stainless steel, we have the solution. We will propose the optimal joining method from our extensive know-how.

Brazing of stainless steel is all about the removal of a strong oxide layer. While it is difficult to remove the oxide layer with flux, "furnace brazing" allows for easy removal by blocking the atmosphere and performing the process inside the equipment. Furnace brazing is a method suitable for automation and mass production. Brazing in our self-developed continuous hydrogen furnace utilizes the reducing power of hydrogen, eliminating the need for flux and post-processing. Furthermore, it is an environmentally friendly method. 【Features】 ■ We propose "brazing methods" tailored to the applications of stainless steel components, such as heat resistance, corrosion resistance, airtightness, and strength. ■ We can accommodate everything from single prototypes to large production lots. ■ We ensure quick delivery times. ■ Joining of dissimilar metals is also possible. Please consult us. Combinations such as stainless steel-copper and stainless steel-brass are feasible. *For more details, please feel free to contact us.

Please consult us about brazing ceramics.

It is possible to braze ceramics and metals. It is used for applications such as tools and semiconductor substrates. This is a direct brazing method using active metal solder.

Unlike the indirect method of brazing after metallizing conventional ceramics, we use a direct method with active silver solder. 【Features】 ■ Since it is a method of directly joining ceramics, the working time can be significantly reduced. ■ It is also possible to join ceramics and metals. ■ Brazing of ceramic substrates is possible.

Easy-to-Understand Brazing Series: Brazing Method 1 - Atmosphere Brazing

Introduction to the characteristics of "hydrogen atmosphere" and "vacuum atmosphere."

We would like to introduce "Brazing Method 1 - Atmosphere Brazing" from the easy-to-understand "Brazing" series. Atmosphere brazing is classified into "hydrogen atmosphere" and "vacuum atmosphere." The "hydrogen atmosphere" uses hydrogen. The "vacuum atmosphere" performs brazing in a rarefied atmosphere evacuated by a vacuum pump. 【Hydrogen Atmosphere Features】 ■ It has a strong reducing power against metal oxides. ■ At high temperatures, low dew point hydrogen gas can reduce oxides of stainless steel, iron, chromium, copper, nickel, and others. ■ Oxides of metals containing titanium and aluminum cannot be reduced. ■ The dew point refers to the moisture content in hydrogen gas, and the lower it is, the higher the reducing power. ■ Hydrogen has good thermal conductivity and is environmentally friendly. *For more details, please refer to the PDF materials or feel free to contact us.

Easy-to-understand brazing series: Brazing methods for ceramics

There are methods for joining ceramics and metals, including the metallization method and the active metal method.

Ceramics are a general term for inorganic materials that have been fired and solidified, and pottery and glass are also part of the ceramics family. 【Characteristics of Ceramics】 - Electrical insulation properties - High strength at high temperatures - Excellent corrosion resistance - High hardness and wear resistance - Low thermal expansion rate 【Brazing Methods】 The metallization method creates a wettable film on the surface of ceramics, while the active metal method involves adding elements that activate wetting to the brazing material. The metallization method uses "silver brazing," and the active metal method uses "active brazing." For brazing materials such as CBN and diamond used in tools, the active metal method is recommended. We will provide clear explanations with diagrams in the PDF materials.

An Introductory Booklet on Soldering Understandable from the Basics

Proposing the best joining technology. ICS's brazing technology.

Brazing is a joining technique that allows for the connection of materials without damaging the base material. Types of brazing: - Silver brazing (780°C to 900°C) - Phosphor bronze brazing (720°C to 925°C) - Nickel brazing (1040°C to 1080°C) - Gold brazing (895°C to 1030°C) - Copper brazing (1100°C to 1110°C) When considering brazing: 1. When it is not possible to shape the material as a single piece. 2. When the material and processing costs are high for a single piece. 3. When joining thin materials that are difficult to weld. 4. When joining materials that are difficult to weld, such as copper. 5. When joining a large number of items. With ICS's joining technology, you can make the best choice.

Soldering of iron and copper-based metals in a continuous non-oxidizing furnace.

Beautiful brazing of iron and copper-based metals! Achieve a finish with enhanced functionality and durability! Mass production is possible with furnace brazing.

In a continuous non-oxidizing furnace, brazing can primarily be performed on iron-based and copper-based base materials. Suitable filler materials are selected for the base materials to achieve a more beautiful and high-strength finish. When brazing in the furnace, reducing gases such as "hydrogen gas" and "DX gas," as well as inert gases like "nitrogen gas" and "argon gas," are used as the atmosphere inside the furnace. When iron oxide is heated in DX gas, hydrogen and carbon monoxide react with the iron oxide, resulting in a reduction reaction. Hydrogen and carbon monoxide are taken from the iron oxide, turning into water and carbon dioxide, and the iron oxide is reduced back to iron. (See image) By performing heat treatment in a sufficient reducing atmosphere, not only does wettability improve, allowing for good brazing and other processing, but it also prevents discoloration due to oxidation, resulting in shiny products. (See image) 【Types of processing possible with this equipment】 ■ Copper brazing of iron-based base materials ■ Phosphor bronze brazing of copper-based and iron-based base materials ■ Bronze brazing of copper-based and iron-based base materials ■ Silver brazing of copper-based base materials ■ Phosphor copper brazing of copper-based base materials ■ Bright annealing of iron and copper ■ Other brazing of iron-based and copper-based base materials *For more details, please download the PDF data or feel free to contact us.

About "Brazing Strength"

I want to achieve high joint strength with soldering! If you are struggling with joint strength, please feel free to consult us!

In brazing, by determining the appropriate "filler material," "gap management," and "joint shape" for the base material to be brazed, it is possible to achieve a very strong bonding strength. When joining with a filler material that is softer than the base material and pulling as shown in the left diagram, the lateral contraction of the filler is prevented by the hard base material, resulting in a force that pulls the filler outward at the joint (tri-axial stress state). Consequently, the filler becomes less prone to deformation, thereby increasing its strength. If the conditions are met, results can be obtained that lead to base material failure in tensile tests. *For more details, please download the PDF data or feel free to contact us.
