The NBM operates at a switching frequency of 1.7MHz, making it very space-efficient compared to traditional low-frequency (hundreds of kHz) switching regulators that consist of numerous discrete components. Additionally, it responds quickly (within 1 microsecond) to transient loads while maintaining the output voltage within a narrow variation range. It is fundamentally low-noise even without external filters and also supports hot swapping and inrush current limiting.
