[Analysis Case] Damage Assessment of Single Crystal Si Surface

Quantitative analysis of c-Si and a-Si by state is possible using high-resolution measurement and waveform analysis.

In the semiconductor manufacturing process, ion irradiation is sometimes performed for the purpose of surface modification. It is known that irradiating the surface of single-crystal Si with ions of inert elements can cause structural damage and lead to the formation of an amorphous layer. Utilizing the fact that high-resolution XPS spectra detect c (single-crystal) Si and a (amorphous) Si with different peak shapes, we will introduce a case where this damage-derived a-Si was separated from c-Si and quantitatively evaluated.

We would like to introduce a case where the strength of a hard, thin DLC film on a very soft Si wafer was evaluated without being influenced by the substrate. Appropriate recognition of the cause of one’s underestimated feeding rate

Currently, a feeding and swallowing function evaluation device is known to evaluate the feeding and swallowing function of someone. If one has impaired semantic memory function, the feeding rate may be decreased even when the eating behavior is normal. However, existing feeding and swallowing function evaluation device does not output information on one’s semantic memory function, making it impossible to recognize the cause of the underestimated feeding rate.   This invention is able to provide a feeding and swallowing function evaluation device that can appropriately recognize the cause of one's underestimated feeding rate. This invention has a feeding behavior information acquisition unit, a correct/incorrect information acquisition unit, a feeding behavior evaluation information output unit and a semantic memory evaluation information output unit. In this invention, the evaluation of feeding and swallowing function is performed by a computer which acquires information on the correctness of one's response to a semantic memory task and outputs information on whether the semantic memory function is normal or not. This allows proper recognition of the cause of one's underestimated feeding rate.

Degradation evaluation of ceramic thermal barrier coating for gas turbine thermal power plant by using few GHz microwave

This invention is about a non-contact & non-destructive inspection method for evaluating the degradation with the age of thermal barrier coating on heat resistant metallic material by using microwave. The formation and growth of thermally grown oxide (TGO) which is formed as a result of aging, is evaluated for ceramic coated element used in gas turbine thermal power generation, and the interfacial strength is indirectly evaluated. YSZ (top coat) is used in ceramic coating for gas turbine element, and MCrAlY alloy layer (bond coat) is inserted between the YSZ and the substrate (Ni-based superalloy) to increase delamination resistance. This element is known to form TGO on the bond coat as the material deteriorates, so the element life evaluation is possible by evaluating TGO.

A mathematical model was constructed to determine the pattern of nanofluid flow in droplets and the structure of deposited nanoparticle layer.

 Recently, nanomaterials, including nanofluids and polymer nanocomposite materials, have been extensively investigated. These materials have diverse applications, such as conductive nano-inks, solar cells, and sensors. In contrast, Inkjet technology offers several advantages, including a simple device configuration, high flexibility in material combination, low environmental impact due to on-demand production, and scalability. These attributes have driven growing interest in printed electronics technology, which applies this technique to the fabrication of electronic circuits and devices.  The present invention enables quantitative evaluation of characteristic patterns that emerge in nanofluid droplets ejected from an inkjet nozzle and adhered to a substrate. By developing a mathematical model governing droplet wetting behavior, it became feasible to design flow patterns within nanofluid droplets and nanoparticle patterns deposited on a substrate. Furthermore, a measurement technique for nanofluid droplets has been successfully developed. (See T24-030).

Resolver characteristic evaluation device "RI-1000"

Output errors in a state of stator and rotor eccentricity can be measured with high resolution of 0.01°.

The "RI-1000" is a device for evaluating the characteristics of resolvers, capable of measuring electrical characteristics such as impedance under eccentric conditions. Eccentricity corresponds to horizontal eccentricity relative to the stator and rotor, axial tilt, and thrust direction offset.
