[Production Example] Special Processing Technology for Non-Alkali Glass (Size Reduction)

Size down from 750×850 to 400×550! The pattern position measurement is being taken with an image measurement machine.

This is an introduction to a case study of special processing technology for non-alkali glass (size reduction). When processing mask substrates that are patterned with high precision and accuracy, the challenge was to cut them without damaging the appearance and to finish the pattern position as required. To address this, we applied masking, performed cutting, and used a machining center equipped with a camera for positioning and shaping. Furthermore, we ensured that the external dimensions met the requirements, and by measuring the pattern position with an image measurement machine, we were able to satisfy our customers, leading to repeat orders. [Case Overview] ■ Request: To reduce the size of a patterned mask substrate to a smaller dimension ■ Product Specifications: Etched position requires an accuracy of ±0.05 Appearance (scratches, etc.) must have a defect rate of "0" under high-brightness lamps ■ Material: Non-alkali glass ■ Size: Reduced from 750×850 to 400×550 ■ Product Details: Request for size change of the existing product's glass (position and appearance are important) *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

[Production Example] Industrial Machinery 'Touch Panel' Glass Chemical Strengthening

We will devise a tool to suppress it! We will make "glass shatters" less likely to happen!

This is an introduction to a case study on the chemical strengthening of glass for industrial machinery "touch panels." Thin glass can easily break during shaping and handling. Therefore, we have implemented innovative methods for holding processing jigs and controlling the floating and cracking of glass during chemical strengthening, enabling us to handle the processing effectively. In the cleaning before inspection, we also accommodate various cleaning machines according to needs. "Glass breaks" ... it's a given! We believe that our technology, which we develop daily by striving to make it "less likely to break," is a result of our efforts in our own processes. [Case Overview] ■ Request: Chemical strengthening of ultra-thin glass ■ Product specifications: Cover glass for tablet devices, 0.1mm thick ■ Material: Aluminosilicate for chemical strengthening ■ Size: 300mm x 200mm x 0.1t *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

[Special Glass Manufacturing Case] Special Glass Processing for Industrial Machinery 'Touch Panel'

Unique technology that only TTG can offer with all in-house processing! Here is an introduction to our case studies on display cover glass processing! For matters related to special glass, please leave it to us!

We would like to introduce a case study of special glass processing for the industrial machinery "Touch Panel." This time, the request includes shape processing, hole drilling, strengthening, peripheral printing, and the application of anti-reflective and anti-fouling films to reduce surface reflection. All processing (steps) can be handled in-house, but we focus on the final appearance. To ensure that no traces of processing jigs remain, we carefully considered the order of the surface film formation and shaping processes (hole drilling) while maintaining performance. [Case Overview] ■ Request: Cover glass for display ■ Product Specifications: Shape processing, hole drilling, strengthening, peripheral printing, and the application of anti-reflective and anti-fouling films (to prevent surface dirt) ■ Material: Thin float glass (0.3mm to 2.0mm) ■ Size: 200mm × 150-300mm × 200mm Irregular shapes (trapezoidal, corner R products, etc.) ■ Product Details: Since it is for automotive use, strength is essential, but design, including shape, is also important. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

【Presenting trivia!】Why does glass break? Let me tell you about glass!

I will explain and introduce the physical and chemical factors that cause glass to break!

To break glass, it is often due to physical factors such as "making contact with a hard object on glass or mirrors" and chemical factors like "pouring hot water into a cup." When cooling and solidifying glass products, there are countless tiny scratches (cracks) on the surface that are not visible to the eye, and the scratches (cracks) at the points of contact with hard objects spread and cause breakage. Additionally, it is generally said that when the temperature difference exceeds 60°C, the risk of glass expanding and breaking becomes very high. Pouring 100°C hot water into a cup at 20°C (room temperature) significantly increases the risk of breakage. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.*

Presenting technical information! How to make glass more resistant to breaking?

Introducing two methods for creating shatter-resistant glass: "air-cooled tempering" and "chemical strengthening"! Technical materials are available for distribution!

To create glass that is difficult to break, there are two methods: "thermal tempering" and "chemical strengthening." "Thermal tempering" involves heating the glass to near its softening temperature (about 650-700°C) and then rapidly cooling it, which generates compressive stress on the surface. "Chemical strengthening," also known as chemical tempering or ion exchange strengthening, enhances the glass by inducing a chemical reaction on its surface. The thickness of the replacement layer varies depending on the type of material. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.*

[Special Glass Manufacturing Example] Chemical Strengthening of Special Glass (Special Processing Technology)

High customer satisfaction! We also support large digital signage and large curved glass! Leave it to us for any special glass needs!

This is an introduction to examples of the production of chemically strengthened special glass (special processing technology). Since the strengthening tank is heated to very high temperatures, there may be instances of substrate cracking during the insertion and removal of the substrate. To prevent such cracking, we have know-how in preheating, slow cooling, and jigs to hold the substrate, and it is not an exaggeration to say that the culmination of our in-house technology is present here. Currently, we are also finishing the strengthening of large digital signage and large bent glass, and customer satisfaction has been increasing significantly. 【Case Overview】 ■ Request: Chemical strengthening ■ Materials: Soda glass, of course, as well as aluminosilicate glass for strengthening, and other glass excluding non-alkali ■ Size: Strengthening possible from ultra-small sizes up to 1500mm x 780mm ■ Product details: From small mobile substrates to large substrates for digital signage *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.
