System health check – To prevent unexpected issues.

Introduction to the features of the Vanquish Core HPLC system for routine analysis.

Before starting the analysis, it is extremely important to verify the suitability of the HPLC equipment to be used. Therefore, a system suitability test (SST) is conducted before analyzing the samples. If the integrity of the HPLC equipment is evaluated solely based on the implementation of the SST, the results of any nonconformities may lead to troubleshooting for potential issues that are time-consuming and costly. By adding a system health check to the SST, a sense of assurance regarding the system is obtained. These are diagnostic tests that are automatically performed when the HPLC system is not in use.

Ensuring the robustness of continuous analysis through automatic management of HPLC mobile phase and waste disposal.

Introduction to the features of the Vanquish Core HPLC system for routine analysis.

The robustness of HPLC equipment and trouble-free continuous operation are essential for obtaining high productivity and reliable results in analytical facilities. Analytical facilities face the challenge of handling samples with minimal human intervention. This requires robust equipment and remote monitoring technologies, such as continuous solvent monitoring. When used together, the Thermo Scientific Vanquish solvent monitor (patented technology) and Thermo Scientific Vanquish HPLC and UHPLC systems can help avoid unexpected solvent shortages and enable continuous analysis. In regulated environments, the Vanquish solvent monitor can save costs associated with creating additional regulatory documentation due to sequence interruptions, unexpected equipment shutdowns, loss of valuable samples, and depletion of mobile phases.

HPLC Method Transfer: Adjustment Function for Gradient Delay Volume

A detailed explanation of one of the most important parameters of method transfer, gradient delay volume.

Transferring methods from old HPLC equipment to new devices or between devices from different manufacturers is a challenging task for many HPLC users. Differences in hardware design, such as the temperature control mode of the column oven, pre-column heater, and specifications of the pump—critical for gradient methods—as well as the design of the auto-sampler and the system volume determined by the plumbing, can affect the results of chromatography. This technical note introduces the gradient delay volume, which is extremely important in method transfer.

[Case Study] High-Precision Quantification of Liposome Formulations Using HPLC CAD

HPLC CAD system for rapid and accurate analysis of liposome formulations.

The HPLC Charged Aerosol Detector (CAD) system is a solution that allows for the rapid and highly accurate quantification of lipids in liposome formulations. This technical sample presents the results of validation using the ASTM method across 12 system configurations at 4 sites (Thermo Scientific Vanquish Flex UHPLC and Vanquish Core HPLC). Reliable results were obtained across all systems, and they passed the system suitability tests. Additionally, excellent separation performance was confirmed using the Thermo Scientific Hypersil GOLD column. 【Features】 ■ High precision quantification: Quantification is possible in the range of 0.2 to 300 µg/g using linear, quadratic, and log-log calibration curves. ■ High reliability: Passed system suitability tests at all sites. ■ Excellent performance: High separation capability and rapid analysis with the Hypersil GOLD column. ■ Efficient analysis: Consistent responsiveness and high-precision results obtained quickly.

[Case Study] Efficient Analysis of Sunscreen Ingredients Using UHPLC System

Rapid and accurate analysis of multiple ultraviolet filter components using a high-precision, environmentally friendly UHPLC method!

This technical document introduces a method for efficiently analyzing ten types of ultraviolet filter components contained in five types of sunscreen using a UHPLC system under a single analytical condition. The results of the validation of the method's accuracy and precision showed that the peak area RSD was below 1.10%, and the retention time RSD was below 0.50%, indicating high precision. Additionally, by transitioning the existing analytical method to the UHPLC method, we reduced solvent consumption and waste generation, and replaced tetrahydrofuran (THF) used in the sample solution with a more environmentally friendly solvent, thereby reducing the environmental impact. 【Features】 ■ Efficient analysis of ten types of ultraviolet filter components under a single analytical condition ■ High precision with peak area RSD below 1.10% and retention time RSD below 0.50% ■ Reduction of solvent consumption and waste generation through the UHPLC method ■ Thorough evaluation of accuracy, linearity, and precision ■ Use of environmentally friendly solvents to reduce environmental impact *For more details, please download the PDF or feel free to contact us.
