Q&A: What is the difference between dielectric heating and induction heating?

What is the difference between dielectric heating and induction heating?

Regarding high-frequency dielectric heating, the applicator is equipped with two electrodes that create a high-frequency electric field, and the workpiece placed between these two electrodes is heated by the electric field. The electrodes are connected to the oscillator using wires, but since radio waves leak from the wires to the outside, measures are needed not only for safety but also to comply with the strict regulations of the Radio Law. Microwave heating also heats the workpiece using an electric field, but does not require electrodes. Since a waveguide is used to connect the oscillator to the applicator, radio waves do not leak to the outside. High-frequency induction heating utilizes the heat generated by metals affected by high-frequency magnetic fields through Joule loss and hysteresis loss. A representative example of high-frequency induction heating is the induction heating (IH) cooker. When a thick metal pot is placed on the IH cooker and the switch is turned on, high-frequency current flows through the coil, generating a high-frequency magnetic field. The pot heats up due to Joule loss and hysteresis loss caused by the generated high-frequency magnetic field, thereby cooking the food inside the pot. In other words, the IH cooker directly heats only the pot with the high-frequency magnetic field. In contrast, a microwave oven directly heats food with microwaves. Explanatory Material: "High-Frequency Hardening Varies Depending on the Method (Cracking Edition)"

A clear explanation of the mechanisms behind cracking during firing and points for improvement to prevent it.

Our company, which specializes in prototype and contract processing of high-frequency hardening, is currently offering the document "High-Frequency Hardening Changes Depending on the Method (Cracking Edition)." This document introduces the mechanisms behind the occurrence of cracking, representative examples of causes and countermeasures, as well as key points for preventing delayed cracking (time-dependent hardening cracking). We provide easy-to-understand information that is useful for achieving high-quality hardening. 【Contents (Excerpt)】 ■ Mechanisms of cracking occurrence ■ Differences in cooling rates ■ Relationship with material properties ■ Uneven material structure In addition to prototypes and contract processing, our company also supports high-frequency hardening equipment. *Eligible for subsidies We provide a comprehensive system from design to installation and post-introduction maintenance. Our designers personally oversee the on-site trial operation until completion, ensuring a quick response to problem-solving. *For more details, please download the PDF or feel free to contact us. ★ For inquiries by phone, please call: Osaka Headquarters → TEL: 072-991-1361 Nagoya → TEL: 052-322-1361 Tokyo → TEL: 03-5472-1361

Plotter plain paper MS-67M CoC A0 roll

Paper made from domestic major Japanese paper manufacturers' base paper, using FSC® certified paper that also considers the environment.

Since it is a 60M roll, it is 20M more economical per box compared to the typical 50M roll. Due to its overwhelming low price and high quality, many customers have purchased it. By using "Standard Paper MS-67M," which is made from FSC® certified paper, your company can contribute to protecting the world's forests. What is FSC® certified paper? It is the most widely recognized international forest certification system in the world. It establishes 10 principles that emphasize the balance of environmental, social, and economic factors, and only paper that meets strict standards—such as ensuring that wood is sourced from "well-managed forests," processed correctly, and distributed properly—can display this mark. In Western countries, it has become a standard criterion for paper selection.
