An alternative to vacuum and sealed dumps! A case where dredged soil was improved and immediately transported to a sediment disposal site about 10 km away.

This construction project involves dredging sediment accumulated in the river to secure the riverbed. The site has a very narrow work yard, and there was no space to temporarily store and air-dry the dredged sediment. Initially, lime-based materials were considered, but concerns arose regarding securing storage space and the potential for dust dispersion to nearby areas. During pile driving work, mud containing groundwater is generated during excavation, which has been a hindrance to construction. High Cement Content Soil Improvement Agent MT Series [Construction Case] Pond Dredging Work

Efficient transportation of large amounts of deposited soil! A case where the deposited soil was improved, and primary transportation was carried out using a roller dump within the reservoir, followed by secondary transportation to a temporary storage area several kilometers away using dump trucks.

This construction project involves the dredging of sediment from a reservoir. At the same site, the accumulation of sediment in the reservoir had reduced its water storage capacity, which became a problem. However, the high moisture content of the sediment made it difficult to transport using dump trucks. Therefore, a high-moisture sediment improvement agent, MT-2, which is neutral and allows for immediate transportation from the site, was adopted. High Cement Content Soil Improvement Agent MT Series [Construction Case Studies] Infrastructure Development Project

Optimal for the field! A case where excavation for waterway widening was adopted in the infrastructure development project.

This construction project is a land readjustment project aimed at large-scale consolidation of rice fields. In this project, the initial plan was to backfill the existing waterway with locally generated soil for agricultural use. However, due to the high moisture content of the locally generated soil, we considered methods for soil improvement, but using cement or lime was not feasible due to concerns about their impact on crops. Therefore, we conducted test formulations to see if the high-water-content clay soil improvement agent MT-2 could be used. As a result, all soil environmental standard component analysis items were below the standard values, and the soil hardness (Yamanaka method) was determined to be 12mm after 21 days, leading us to conclude that backfilling with improved soil was possible, and we proceeded with mixing at the site of the existing waterway. Furthermore, considering future subsurface drainage and agricultural activities, the use of improved soil was limited to a depth of 80cm below the surface.
